George Carlin

 George Denis Patrick Carlin, born on May 12th, 1937 passed away June 22nd in 2008. Carlin was an American actor and comedian. Carlin was regarded as "the the dean" of comedians from the counterculture, and one of the most popular stand-up comedians. His dark comedy routines and reflections on the psychology of religion, politics and other taboo subjects were his signature. In 1978, the United States Supreme Court case F.C.C. was dominating by his "seven dirty words" routine. The "seven dirty words" routine was the main focus of the Supreme Court case F.C.C. His performances were mostly social-cultural critiques of American society in the 1980s. He often commented on American politics as well as satirized American culture. In the three-decade Johnny Carson period He was a frequent actor and host on The Tonight Show. He was also the host of the first Saturday Night Live episode in the year 1975. The last comedy special he hosted called It's Bad for Ya was recorded just four months before his death due to a heart disease. He was given the Mark Twain award for American comedy in 2008, posthumously. He was ranked second on Comedy Central's 2004 ranking of the 10 best American comedians. Rolling Stone magazine placed him in second place behind Richard Pryor on its 2017 list of stand-up comedians with 50.
