After evaluating several offers, Banner and Scott Johnson decided to sign with Universal Records subsidiary SRC Records. SRC Records was established by Steve Rifkind, who previously was CEO of Loud Records, a heavyweight hip-hop label. Banner was the creator of T.I. T.I.'s single, "Rubber Band Man" It reached No. 30 on the Hot 100, at No. 15 on the R&B charts, and No. 11 on the Rap chart. Banner's debut album on a major label, Mississippi, was released in 2003. Mississippi included the smash single "Like A Pimp" that Lil Flip performed. "Like the Pimp" was the highest-rated single of the year, peaking at No. 48 on the Billboard Hot 100 charts, No. 15 on the Hot R&B/Hip-Hop Songs charts, and No. 10 on the Hot Rap Tracks charts. 13] The album that followed MTA2 Baptized in Dirty Water came out in the same year. It produced the hit "Crank It up", featuring Static Major. Banner's third album on a major label"Certified" was released in 2005. The first single released from the album was "Ain’t Got Nothing" which featured Magic and Lil Boosie. "Play" was the second single from the album, peaked at the top spot at No. 7 on the Hot 100 charts, No. 5 on the R&B charts, and No. 3 on the Rap chart. 13 "Touching" with Jazze Pha, was the third single. It was ranked the number. 54 on the R&B charts. Banner was featured on "Seein the Toogs" in the year 2006. The song was about Hurricane Katrina was a part of DJ Shadow's 2006 album "The Outsider". A remix was also made by Bay Area hip-hop rappers Nump and Gold. Banner has also contributed the music of a commercial for Marvel Vs Capcom 3 - Fate of Two Worlds. Banner played Tehronne in Black Snake Moan (2006).
