David Michael Bautista Jr. (born on January 18, 1969) is an American actor and former professional wrestler. Between 2002 and 2019 the actor was a participant in many WWE time periods. As an actor, he's most widely known for his role as Drax the Destroyer in the Marvel Cinematic Universe since Guardians of the Galaxy (2014).Bautista began his wrestling career in 1999. He then in 2000 signed with the World Wrestling Federation at the time (WWF, renamed WWE in 2002). From 2002 until 2010 the actor gained fame under the name of the ring Batista and became a six-time world champion after taking home the World Heavyweight Championship four times and the WWE Championship twice. With a total of 282 days, his initial stint with the World Heavyweight Championship was the longest. The champion also won the World Tag Team Championship twice (once with Ric Flair, once with John Cena), and the WWE Tag Team Championship once with Rey Mysterio. He took home in 2005's Royal Rumble match. He took over the Wrestlemania show as the headliner 21, which was among the five biggest pay-per view events. After quitting WWE in 2010 and resigning in December 2013 and made his first appearance back in January 2014, and he won that year's Royal Rumble match. He was the headliner at WrestleMania XXX , before resigning the following June. Bautista returned to WWE in October 2018 and was able to take on Triple H at Wrestlemania 35 in April of 2019. He then retired from the sport. All in all Bautista has won 11 championships during his career in wrestling.
