Norman Julius "Boomer", (/@'saI.@n"/", was an American former professional footballer who played for the Cincinnati Bengals during 14 seasons in the National Football League. The Bengals chose him in the second round, and he spent 10 seasons without a repeat. Esiason was also a part of the New York Jets and Arizona Cardinals.During his career as a player, Esiason was named to four Pro Bowls as well as one All-Pro first-team selection. In 1988, Esiason was the Bengals most productive player. He received the NFL Most Valuable Player award and helped lead the team to an Super Bowl appearance. Esiason spent nine years in Cincinnati before he was traded to the Jets. He also played one season for the Cardinals. Esiason then returned to the Bengals in 1997, as a football analyst for CBS Sports. Boomer and Gio is an early morning radio show that airs on WFAN in New York, are also hosted by Esiason.
