She earned an Emmy Award nomination for her performance as Stella Kowalski in the 1984 television movie version of A Streetcar Named Desire. In the following years, she played major roles in a variety of dramatic TV films such as Slow Burn, Judgment Day, The John List Story and Sweet Temptation. In the 2000s D'Angelo was a regular character in Law & Order: Special Victims Unit as the defense attorney Rebecca Balthus. She was also a voice actor. In 1992 she had a guest appearance in the third season of The Simpsons as Lurleen Lumpkin who was an Southern country musician and waitress in the "Colonel Homer" episode. A year later, in 2008, she appeared as the same character in "Papa Don't Less" episode. D'Angelo in 2012 From 2005 through 2011D'Angelo was a character on Barbara "Babs" Miller on Entourage. In 2006, she appeared in Gamers: The Movie. D'Angelo was in the film Harold & Kumar Escape From Guantanamo bay as Sally. D'Angelo played the role of the housemother in The House Bunny and was also in the Tony Kaye movie Black Water Transit. In 2014, D'Angelo was cast as Chevy Chase in an ABC comedy pilot called Chev & Bev. This pilot focused on the lives of a couple who are retired and have to look after their children. The character was not an ABC show. She starred alongside Chevy Chase in Vacation which was a sequel of the film. This film was released on the 29th of July in 2015. D'Angelo also narrates a biographical documentary about Patsy Cline, which is on display at The Patsy Cline Museum, Nashville, Tennessee. The museum was opened for public viewing on April 7, 2017.
