Barry Hall

Barry Hall (born 8 February 1977) is a former professional Australian rules footballer who played for the St Kilda Football Club, Sydney Swans and Western Bulldogs in the Australian Football League (AFL). He is considered to be one of the best forwards of the modern era and was named All-Australian, leading his club's goalkicking on eleven occasions and being captain of the Sydney Swans to their 2005 AFL Grand Final victory. Hall was a legend in July 2011 by becoming the first player to score 100 goals for three AFL clubs. He began his career at St Kilda Football Club, which was where he served as the goalkicking leader of the club in 2001 and 1999. Hall is most well-known for his experience with the Sydney Swans. He was one of the Swans most effective players at the club, winning the club's goal kicks from 2002 until 2008 and co-captaining the team between 2005 and 2007, including the club's drought breaking premiership in 2005. He also played a prominent role in the promotion of the AFL's Sydney. He was also able to take part in a 2006 joint promotion of AFL and Swans named "Barry Hall Hall". His AFL career, a former junior champion in boxing has been marred with an on-field reputation for aggression that earned him the title of "wild man" and was regarded as one of the most fearsome players on the field.
