42 Dugg

 Hayes gained first traction with tracks "The Streets", and "STFU". After writing poetry with Lil Baby, Hayes signed to Lil Baby's 4 Pockets Full (4PF), and Yo Gotti’s Collective Music Group(CMG) as well as Interscope Records. 42 Dugg received national attention after he was featured in Lil Baby's February 2020 track "Grace" which peaked at 48 on the Billboard Hot 100. 42 Dugg was also featured in Lil Baby's song "We Paid" in May 2020, peaking at number 10 on the Billboard Hot 100. The mixtape Young & Turnt 2 saw increased sales, peaking at number 58 on the Billboard 200 and six on Billboard’s Independent Albums charts. Hayes continued to be a hit by appearing on songs for Marshmello and Lil Keed as well as Blac Youngsta and Big Sean. Three people were wounded during 42 Dugg's Atlanta music video shoot on February 21, 2021. OMB Peezy was later charged for the shooting with an aggravated attack using firearm that was deadly and also possessing a firearm while committed a crime. The three victims survived.In May 2021 Billboard declared 42 Dugg the "R&B/Hip-Hop Rookie of the Month".That same week, on the 21st of May 2021, Dugg released the 19-track mixtape, entitled Free Dem Boyz. It was a dedication to all of his jailed friends. The album features the "standout" single, "4 da Gang" featuring Roddy Ricch, and also additional guest tracks including Lil Durk, Rowdy Rebel, and Fivio Foreign. Also in 2021, he performed in the annual XXL Freshman Class.
