Lindsay Dee Lohan, /'loU.@n/LOH-@n[awas born on July 2nd in 1986. 4 She is an American actor and singer. 5 Lohan was born in New York City, and was raised in Long Island. She was signed to Ford Models when she was three years old. Her breakthrough came with Walt Disney Pictures' 1998 film The Parent Trap. The film's success led to appearances on television's Life-Size (2000), Get a Clue (2002) as well as large-screen films Freaky Friday (2003) and Confessions of a Teenage Drama Queen (2004). Her early work helped earn her fame. The teen comedy smash Mean Girls (2004) established her as an icon. She was also featured in the TV film Life-Size (2000) and Get a Clue (2002). Lohan was also a triple threat when she signed with Casablanca Records, releasing two studio albums, including the platinum-certified Speak (2004) as well as the gold-certified album A Little More Personal(Raw) (2006). Herbie: Fully Loaded (2006) and Just My Luck (2006) were her other roles. Lohan began to play the roles in independent films such as Chapter 27 (2007) and A Prairie Home Companion (2006) to showcase her versatility. The start of a series of personal battles that would be a part of Lohan through her career and personal life was exemplified by her alleged behavior during the filming of Georgia Rule. The frequent appearances in court, legal problems and visits to rehabilitation centers led to her being a frequent contributor to tabloid media. She was unable to reprise several roles in this time and this negatively affected her career as well as public image. She attempted to return to acting with the appearances in Liz & Dick (2012) as well as The Canyons (2013). Both films received negative reviews.
