Thomas Cruise Mapother IV (born July 3, 1962), known professionally as Tom Cruise, is an American actor and producer. Two of his children were adopted by Kidman in the course of his marriage, while the third is his biological child, which he shared with Holmes. Cruise is an active advocate for Scientology. He credits it with aiding him in overcoming dyslexia. In the late 2000s Cruise sparked controversy due to his criticisms of psychiatry and antidepressant drugs, his attempts to promote Scientology in Europe and also an unreleased video interview with his promoting Scientology.
