 Stefani Joanne Angelina Germanyotta (/’stef@ni,dZe:rm@’nat@(listen) (listen) (listen), STEF-@nee JUR-m@-(born March 28th in 1986), is an American actor, singer and songwriter. Her versatility in her music and creative image are what makes her different. Gaga began performing as an teen. She performed at open mic events and appeared in school productions. Gaga was a student at Collaborative Arts Project 21 at the New York University Tisch School of the Arts before she made the decision to pursue a career in music. She was dismissed by Def Jam Recordings and began writing songs for Sony/ATV Music Publishing. In 2007 she signed a joint arrangement with Interscope Records, KonLive Distribution as well as Sony/ATV Music Publishing. Gaga gained notoriety in 2007 when she released The Fame, her debut album of her own. It also included the top charting singles "Just Dance" and "Poker Face". The album was later released with an extended version of The Fame Monster (2009) that produced the smash singles "Bad Romance", Telephone, and Alejandro. The five studio albums that followed all made it to the top of the US Billboard 200. Born This Way (2011) the second album she released in full comprised of techno-pop and electronic music. It sold more than one million copies in its first week. With more than 1 million downloads in one week, the album's song's title track became the iTunes Store's top-selling track. Gaga's third album, which was influenced by EDM, Artpop (2013) as well as the album's lead track "Applause" was then followed by her jazz album Cheek to Choke (2014) that she produced alongside Tony Bennett, as well as the album of soft rock Joanne (2016). Gaga branched out into acting and was awarded for her performances in the miniseries American Horror Story Hotel (2015-2016) and the musical A Star Is Born (2018). She was the first female to be awarded an Academy Award and BAFTA Award, Golden Globe Award and Grammy Award for her contributions to the soundtrack for A Star Is Born, which also produced the smash hit song "Shallow". The sixth studio album of Lady Gaga Chromatica (2020) was her returning to dance-pop. It was the first album to release the top single "Rain on Me". The album was followed by Love for Sale (her second album with Bennett) as well as she was cast as the lead in House of Gucci in 2021.
