Karen Gillan

 Karen Sheila Gillan, /'gIl@n/ was born 28 November 1987, and is an actress from Scotland. Scottish actress. Her work in British film and television earned her recognition, especially for her performance as Amy Pond, the primary companion of Doctor Who's Eleventh Doctor in Doctor Who (2010-2013), which was nominated for and was awarded numerous prizes. Her first film roles included Ally in the film thriller Outcast (2010) and Jane Lockhart in the romantic comedy film Not Another Happy Ending (2013). She also performed on the stage while in Britain as she appeared in John Osborne's play Evidence (2011) before making her Broadway debut in the show Time to Act (2013).Gillan made her move to Hollywood acting as Kaylie Russell in the film horror Oculus (2013) which was her first commercial success in the United States, and thereafter was the lead character in the sitcom Selfie (2014). International stardom was her role as Nebula in the Marvel Cinematic Universe superhero films Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. (2014) and Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2 (2017), Avengers: Infinity War (2018), Avengers: Endgame (2019), and Thor: Love and Thunder (2022) and will reprise the character in the movie Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3 (2023). 3 (2023). She was also a writer and director on The Party's Only Beginning (2018), which she headlined. Her public image and her activism, especially in the area of suicide prevention are highly praised.
