George Foreman

 George Edward Foreman, born on January 10, 1949 George Edward Foreman, born January 10, 1949, is an American former professional boxer, entrepreneur, and minister. He was popularly known as "Big George" in boxing and fought from 1967 until 1997. Foreman was an Olympic gold medalist as well as two-time heavyweight champion around the globe. The most well-known of his achievements is the George Foreman Grill. After an unhappy growing up, Foreman began amateur boxing and was awarded a gold medal in the 1968 Summer Olympics in the heavyweight division. He made the transition to professional boxing in 1973, and he won the title of world heavyweight champion after a second round knockout against Joe Frazier. After twice defending the belt and losing his first professional loss against Muhammad Ali in 1974's Rumble in the Jungle. Following a loss in 1977 to Jimmy Young, Foreman decided to step down. He later became an licensed Christian minister. A decade later Foreman returned to the ring and took home the unification of the WBA as well as the IBF heavyweight titles. He beat 26-year-old Michael Moorer. Instead of taking on the mandatory title defense, Foreman resigned his WBA title. Then, following one title defense against Axel Schulz on June 28 in 1995, Foreman was also stripped of his IBF title. The age was 46 and was 169 days old. 6 Foreman is the oldest individual to win the heavyweight world championship with significant distinction and is the second-oldest weight class, after Bernard Hopkins (at lightweight heavyweight) He is Foreman. At the age of 48, Foreman retired with a record of 76 wins (68 knockouts and five loss) and was inducted into both the International Boxing Hall of Fame and the World Boxing Hall of Fame. The International Boxing Research Organization ranks Foreman eighth in the top heavyweights. In 2002, The Ring named him as one of the top 25 fighters of the last 80 years. [8The Ring ranked him as the eighth greatest fighter of all time. The Ring listed him as the ninth-greatest puncher of all time. From 2004 until 2004 he was the ringside analyst for HBO's boxing programming. He's also a successful businessman, most famous for his marketing and sales of the George Foreman Grill which has been sold to more than 100 million globally. The commercial rights to the grill to a corporation worth $138 million in 1999.
