American ex-professional basketball player Allen Ezail Iverson (/’aIv@rs@n/; born on June 7, 1975) was born on June 7, 1975. He played for 14 seasons playing the point guard and shooting guard positions within the National Basketball Association (NBA). Iverson was named the 1997 NBA Rookie of the Year Award winner. He was also an 11-time NBA All-Star and the MVP award in 2001 and 2005, and the Most Valuable Player (MVP) in 2001. He was inducted into the Naismith Memorial Basketball Hall of Fame in the year 2016. He was inducted into the Naismith Basketball Hall of Fame in 2016. He earned the Associated Press High School Player of the Year award in both basketball and football, and won the Division 5 AAA Virginia state championship in both sports. [9] Iverson was a basketball player for Georgetown Hoyas after high school. He established the school record for scoring per game for his career (23.0 per game) and was awarded Big East Defensive Player-of-the Year Awards each year.
