Nikola Jokic (Serbian Cyrillic: Nikola Jokitsh, pronounced [nikola Jokitc(listen) (listen) born on February 19, 1995) is a Serbian professional basketball player who plays center for the Denver Nuggets of the National Basketball Association (NBA). He is a four-time NBA All-Star, he has been named to the All-NBA Team on four occasions (including three selections for the first team), and won the NBA Most Valuable Player Award for the 2021-22 and 2020-21 seasons. He's the Serbian national team's representative. Nicknamed "the Joker"Jokic was selected by the Nuggets in the second round of the 2014 NBA draft. In 2016, he was elected to the NBA All-Rookie First Team. In the 2018-19 NBA season, as he led the Nuggets to the Western Conference Semifinals, he received his first All-Star and All-NBA First Team selections. The next season, he received All-Star and All-NBA awards, while also leading his team to the Western Conference Finals. Jokic ranks among the top 10 on the list of NBA players with the highest number of triple-doubles (regular season and playoffs) which is where he is the leading European center and player, and holds the record for the fastest triple-double (achieved in 14 minutes and 33 seconds). also received an award of silver at the 2016 Summer Olympics.
