Kurtis Eugene Warner, born June 22, 1971 was an American former quarterback of the National Football League. He played 12 seasons in the NFL, mostly playing for the St. Louis Rams or Arizona Cardinals. His entire career, which saw him ascend from a free agent who was not drafted to a two-time Most Valuable Player and Super Bowl MVP is widely regarded as being one of the greatest Cinderella tales in NFL history. After playing in the college football league at Northern Iowa from 1990 until 1993, Warner spent four years not being selected to an NFL roster. In 1994 Warner was signed by the Green Bay Packers. However, he was released before the start of the start of the regular season. Instead, he played for three seasons with the Iowa Barnstormers in the Arena Football League (AFL). Warner landed his first NFL roster position in 1998 with the Rams, holding a backup post until he was thrust into being St. Louis's primary quarterback in the next season. Warner was the first NFL quarterback to start as a starter. He played in The Greatest Show on Turf to take home Super Bowl XXXIV. This brought him Super Bowl MVP and league distinctions. In 2001, he won the league's second MVP award. He also made Super Bowl XXVII with the Cardinals.
