Masterson first appeared in 1994 on General Hospital as Ivy Lief. From 1995 until 1999 she was the character as Leeta Bajoran Dabo girl in Star Trek: Deep Space Nine for five years. Her most well-known work is her appearances in feature films, such as appearing in James Kerwin's sci-fi noir film Yesterday Was a Lie (which she also co-produced) as well as Janice Em in Robotech: The Shadow Chronicles. Sliders as well as ER were guest-starring on television characters. In the second she played the character as Kelly Welles (sister to Wade Welles) and Janice Em in the film Robotech: The Shadow Chronicles. Masterson was previously featured in two Doctor Who audio adventures by Big Finish Productions. On October 19th the 19th of October, 2012, Masterson was announced that she was to be the lead in Vienna which is her own spin-off series. She will be playing the lead character "Auto" in monochrom's science-fiction comedy film Je Suis Auto (release date 2022) written and directed by Johannes Grenzfurthner, and Juliana Neuhuber. The film is a comedy that explores topics like artificial intelligence, political issues and technology culture.
